If you’ve been experience stability issues with your PlayStation 3 since the last firmware update, your days of woe may be coming to an end. Firmware version 2.01 is now available for download, and it fixes the following:

  • Stability during playing some PLAYSTATION 3 format software has been improved.
  • Stability of System Software including Internet Browser and Information Board has been improved.
  • Stability of the upscaler for PlayStation 2 format software has been improved. (Playability of PlayStation 2 depends on model)
  • [Remote Start] feature is changed to avoid unintended power on.

We’re not going to lie — we think stability in a system is pretty awesome, so while this small update isn’t thrilling, it’s welcome. Now all Sony has to do is sit back and wait for the next wave of complaints to come in, you whiners. "Oh, my system keeps freezing," or "I can’t play any games!" Pffft!

Call us when your PS3 shows a red ring.
