No one’s as jazzed about Sony’s not-really-a-game safari sim Afrika as I am, but with what little news is coming out of their camp these days, I was thinking I’d have to resort to Pokemon Snap in the meantime. It’s not that I don’t love Pikachu and pals, but a press release sent over from Majesco tells us about another game that may be a better alternative.

The photography safari adventure Wild Earth: African Safari is coming to the Nintendo Wii. Set in Serengeti National Park, players can take photos of wild life and enjoy the outdoors without the hassle of bugs or being stomped by a rhinoceros.

"Wild Earth: African Safari encompasses several great passions – photography, travel and the outdoors – and combines them into a fun and informative interactive experience," said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco.

In Wild Earth: Aftrican Safari, you play as a photo-journalist that is assigned to photograph 30 different wild animals in the Serengeti. Don’t get too close, though, as you’ll cause the Wii Remote to rumble, and you won’t get a steady shot.

The game includes multiplayer game play; a friend can drive while you snap pictures, and there’s even a minigame where gamers can play from the animals perspective. I wonder if you play as a Jackal and attack the photographer.

Wild Earth: African Safari will launch in Spring 2008. Ah, this reminds me of the worst song ever written. Hit the jump to listen while you read the full release.
