Since first seeing the title, I’ve always said that Radical Entertainment’s Prototype (set to hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC later this year) looks a heck of a lot like one of their previous titles, The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. The open world, the massive destruction caused by impossibly long leaps, and the tossing of military vehicles … none of which is necessarily a bad thing, mind you.

Radical Entertainment’s Chris Ansell stopped by the G4 studios to give X-Play an exclusive live demo of the game in action, and based on this footage, my feelings haven’t changed. But even at what Ansell says is 20% complete, the game does look stunning, with a polish and level of violence that we just didn’t see when it was tied to that pesky Marvel license.

When an appropriately amused Morgan Webb asks "Did he just squish a guy by landing a helicopter on him?" and Ansell replies (matter-of-factly) that he did, that’s when I knew I liked where this was going.

The X-Play folks promise more info and demo footage on tonight’s episode, which airs at 8pm EST. My DVR is set.
