Rhythm game fans were delighted to hear last month that Majesco is working with the creative minds behind the Parappa the Rapper franchise to bring out a new Wii rhythm game. Today, Majesco has revealed that game to be Major Minor’s Majestic March, which will be a marching band rhythm game:

"There’s something magical about marching bands that truly captures the imagination. The concept of leading a virtual band that’s reliant on your musicianship is a perfect fit for the interactive capabilities of Wii," said Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco. "The combined musical and artistic superiority of Matsuura and Greenblat make them a natural choice to deliver this innovative title exclusively to the Wii audience."

The Wii Remote will be used like a baton that the bandleader named Major Minor will use to keep tempo, find new band members and beat the cute little animals when screw up*. The game will have eight different locations, 15 different instruments, and 25 different songs to play. Major Minor’s Majestic March is set to come out at the end of this year just in time for the holidays.

If this didn’t have Rodney Alan Greenblat and Masaya Matsuura working on the title, then I’m pretty sure I would have never had any interest in this game. Parappa was an excellent game so I’m definitely looking forward to this. How about you?

[* - That last use for the baton is a total lie.]
