Allez cuisine! The Japanese cooking competition Iron Chef has always been good fun, and makes for an excellent drinking game (ask me later). The show was imported into the US by Food Network recently, and now we’re back in Kitchen Stadium for the series’ videogame debut.

Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine comes to both the Nintendo Wii and DS by way of Destineer. The games will feature the voice and likeness of the show’s over-the-top host, Mark Dacascos. They say other talent will be announced soon. Sorry, but Chairman Kaga is the only one that will do it for me.

Players will square off in "fast-paced and intense culinary challenges" up to the Final Battle, where I’m sure some fat-assed, pretentious foodie will shun everything but fried food and cheese.

"With their innovative control dynamics, Wii and DS are the ideal system for the inaugural Iron Chef video game and believe the ultimate ’secret ingredient’ to these games will be family fun," says Destineer CEO Paul Rinde.

I think we’re looking at a less cute, more competitive Cooking Mama. I’d warn host Mark Dacascos that he doesn’t want to piss Cooking Mama off.

An announcement video is coming when Destineer’s FTP decides not to suck.
