We recently put up a trailer for Hudson Entertainment’s Deca Sports, a collection of ten sports games in one package for the Wii. The response from you guys was mostly negative, with responses like, “The old folks homes will be bursting with excitement when this comes out,” and “DO NOT WANT”. Perhaps the following news will change your mind.

Hudson sent out a press release today (see the jump) announcing that the game has gone gold. That seems rather peculiar given its May 13th (yes, that’s a week earlier than we were previously told) release date. Often, a game won’t go gold until a week or two before it hits store shelves, so in this case, I’m curious as to what Hudson is waiting for, since the game is done. I mean, the 2008 Summer Olympics won’t be held until August, so it’s not like they’re going to capitalize on that.

Regardless, I’ve attached 20 screenshots of the game, two for each of its ten sports: beach volleyball, snowboard cross, badminton, basketball, curling, figure skating, archery, super cross, soccer, and kart racing. The box art is also there. And here’s some truly great news for those of you looking to pick this game up in five weeks: Deca Sports will sell for the low, low price of $29.99! Ten games for 40% less than the price of a full Wii game? Sounds like a hell of a deal to me.
