It’s always sad to hear about games getting the proverbial axe, but the cancellation of two PlayStation 3 games from SCEE London Studio, The Getaway and Eight Days, might see a happy ending yet.

“This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion.”

For those of you who only have vague memories of the two games, this video and these images should refresh your memory. Although very little of either title was ever revealed, what was shown seemed pretty cool, at least to me, anyway.

In any case, the deaths of Eight Days and The Getaway could actually end up benefiting other Sony games in the end, which is always a plus.
