Virtual releases for the week of July 14th: Time to stuff your face edition

Well, Nintendo decided to have some fun this week with their releases this week. The Virtual Console is all fine and good — it’s the WiiWare that has me raising an eyebrow.
For WiiWare, the game this week is Major League Eating: The Game. As you might have guessed with the title, this game is all about stuffing your face full of food. Oh, but that’s not all — no, there’s strategy to be had here. Don’t forget your specials, they’re critical:
These include the Mega Burp, Gas Attack, Antacid and more. And don’t forget to keep an eye on your Barf-O-Meter, because if the food hits the plate twice, you’re out.
The game comes with single and multiplayer, along with on the internet play. So start shoveling away for 1,000 Wii points.
On the Virtual Console front, we’ve got Donkey Kong 3 and Ninja Commando. DK3 introduces Stanley, a character that I’m sure will appear in the next Smash Bros. title just to dredge up even more obscurity, as he attempts to clear Donkey Kong out of his greenhouse. It’s only 500 Wii points for this NES title. Ninja Commando, on the other hand, is a 900-point Neo Geo title. Here, we have Ninja, who are Commandos. It’s essentially a top-down vertical climber where you’re blasting apart everything in your path.
