We’re only a month away from the rumored release of Treyarch’s Call of Duty World at War. So it’s no surprise that details on a multiplayer beta have begun to leak out.
The latest issue of GamePro (October 2008) has few details except for one: there will be a multiplayer beta. The magazine will be holding a contest at win.gamepro.com/callofduty for a chance to win your way into the beta; unfortunately, the contest page isn’t currenty live. There’s another way to get in to the beta, however; GamePro mentions that the “beta is normally reserved for paying pre-order customers.”
I know a lot of you are still having reservations about World at War, considering that Treyarch’s last Call of Duty title was mediocre at best. But with far more development time and resources going in to World at War, there’s definitely a pretty high chance for a better experience. This beta might be a good way for Treyarch to prove themselves.

[Update: Activision confirmed this this day — there will be multiplayer beta tests for the Xbox 360 and PC this October. Those interested can pre-order from GameStop to receive their early beta keys.
