WiiMusic is chockfull of all the instruments you’d expect to be available for waggling your Wiimote to, as well as a few other ‘instruments’ that you totally didn’t expect. While the full hands-on report will be arriving to the site a tiny later on, I figured I’d whet your appetite for what’s to come by introducing WiiMusic’s Puppy Suit instrument. Available amidst the harmony options, the Puppy Suit is, well, your Mii wearing a Puppy Suit. Making puppy sounds. Oh yeah.

But what is a Puppy Suit? Where did it come from? How on earth does it make music? Take a look at the above video (sorry for the loud showroom noise in the back) and then hit the jump to hear more about this musical furry costume and a special explanation of the instrument by yours truly to the puppy loving Chad Concelmo!

The next Wii Remote may include MotionPlus screenshot

As we revealed to you previously, MotionPlus is a nifty little tool for the Wii Remote that actually gives the sense of 3D awareness. Recently at an E3 roundtable, Nintendo designer Katsuya Eguchi was asked if the MotionPlus would always be an attachment to the bottom of the Wii Remote. His response was nothing but formal.

As to looking at whether or not it will be an attachment or built in - we’re always looking at how hardware should evolve and where we should take it.

When Eguchi was asked to reveal more insight into the matter, he stated, “it might be good to keep it as an attachment we only use for certain software.” That statement directly corresponds with a remark made earlier in the roundtable about keeping the attachment casual. Apparently, the casual market is afraid of having their motions tracked by a controller, although they swing their hand around like the Wii Remote is actually doing that anyway.

The one thing Nintendo could do for me with the attachment is to make sure it never gets stuck somewhere irretrievable in my sofa. Controllers, remotes, and even game boxes are simple to dig out between the cushions. Small devices like the MotionPlus or Rumble Packs swiftly become a burden to me. Unfortunately, it appears that my sofa problems may be permanent if Eguchi’s relation to the casual market is any indication.

A new Pikmin is in the works, says Miyamoto screenshot

In an E3 question and answer roundtable just a few hours ago, Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed that he is currently working on a new Pikmin game, presumably for the Wii.

When asked about “core titles” and whether he would be interested in ever making another Pikmin game, Miyamoto laughed and then addressed the inquiry. Avoiding a direct answer at first and questioning what a “core title” truly is, Miyamoto then suddenly, and unexpectedly, gave an honest response:

We’re making Pikmin.

The crowd at the roundtable laughed, which is an odd reaction, since I would have most likely jumped up and down and ripped off my shirt. (As you can tell, I’m a huge Pikmin fan and was actually hoping for a Pikmin 3 announcement at the Nintendo press conference more than anything.)

So, it looks like it is official: a new Pikmin is coming! WOO HOO! First I get to actually meet Miyamoto (one of my heroes) and now this? Today is easily the ideal day EVER!

Hands on with Castlevania Judgement screenshot

Like I said in the Konami press conference live blog, I’m not a big fighting game fan. I’ve been known to go a few rounds with Arcana Heart from time to time, but I’m more into the mo

Hands-on with Mega Man 9 screenshot

I want to marry this game.

I don’t know if that is legal or even morally right — ya’ know, marrying a videogame — but I would like to spend the rest of my life with Mega Man 9. Which sounds better? Mega Man Concelmo or Chad 9?

Anyway, sorry about the slightly perverted distraction. I was going to try to save my excitement for this Capcom masterpiece-in-the-making until after the jump, but I can’t hold back my adoration.

Obviously you know how I feel. Hit the jump to find out why.

Shake It screens are absolutely gorgeous screenshot

After yesterday’s widely panned Nintendo press conference (seriously, go back and read these comments — yikes!), we were given a press kit with a bunch of Nintendo assets to look over. While most of these press releases and screenshots concerned the games focused on during the conference (Wii Sports Resort, Wii Music, etc.), I found some brand new images of upcoming Wii title Wario Land: Shake It!.

Before reading any further you really need to check out the screens in the below gallery. If you’re like me, you must be thinking to yourself: “Why the heck did Nintendo not show off this game at the conference?!” Even stranger, Wario Land: Shake It! is not even playable on the show floor! Seriously, what the heck?!

In this classic 2D side-scrolling platformer, Wario waggles his way through many varied stages full of treasure shaking goodness! By holding the Wiimote sideways and shaking it, players can shake enemies, free coins from treasure bags, and even cause earthquakes! While the concept almost borders on too much waggle, one can’t deny the beauty of the graphics. Check out the giant boss creature; all those jaw-dropping, hand-painted backgrounds; the cartoon look of the characters; THE SUBMARINE!

I am salivating for more information on Wario Land: Shake It!. Gaaaaawd, I wish this was on the show floor! With a looming release date of September 2008, I am shocked (SHOCKED!) that Nintendo hasn’t been focusing more attention on this promising looking title.

What do you think? Do you adore the look and feel of this game? Does Wario Land: Shake It! give you hope that Nintendo still has all gamers in mind?

Rock Revolution dropping in early 2009, scissor kick bonuses confirmed. screenshot

From the makers of Dance Dance Revolution, Guitar Freaks, and Metal Gear Solid IV comes the transcending rhythm experience of Rock Revolution. For the first time ever in a music-based game, players will have access to over two instruments to choose from. Drums, guitar, and possibly even a microphone will be offered when the game hits store shelves next year.

Konami stated to CVG that Rock Revolution will be “the most advanced music title for any format,” and have “the most authentic drum kit imaginable.” If authentic drums weren’t enough, over forty songs will be available. There is also a new “freeform” mode that allows the industrious to create their own songs and then play them. The Wii version will allow users to utilize their Wii Remote and Nunchuck like they were playing some imaginary game like Wii Music or something. Also, scissor kick bonuses utilizing the motion sensing devices of the Wii have been confirmed.

I know what you’re thinking. You’re not ready for the Rock Revolution. In all seriousness, Revolution does have a few things going for it. The drum kit may not be as cool as the crazy Rock Band 2 optional kit, but it certainly looks a bit more challenging than what Rock Band offers by default. Plus, there’s definitely a possibility to get more Eurocentric music, and I love the Spice Girls.

Here’s the biggest bombshell of E3 2008 and it doesn’t even have a thing to do with E3! The latest issue of Famitsu reveals that Dead Rising is coming out for the Nintendo Wii. Lots of people (especially Dale North) were expecting Capcom to reveal Dead Rising 2 today at their press conference, but instead got nothing but Lost Planet motion picture news.

Ready to finally join the legions of people enjoying talking to one another during gaming (what a CRAZY concept!!!)? Well, if you own an Xbox 360, you’ve been doing that for a while, but getting the new-fangled technology isn’t for everyone, you know. At this morning’s Nintendo Press Conference, Nintendo finally offcially announced Animal Crossing: City Folk, which looks like an excellent addition to the cute series. It looks like you can do some new things, like get your hair done. Ok, great, that’s adorable. What else you got for me?

WiiSpeak, a small white device that’s shaped like a half circle, will come packed with Animal Crossing: City Folk and will grant you to speak to your friends while you play the game. While I’d like a headset, I’m not going to complain about the ability to finally share playing a Wii game with other people and getting to hear their voices. I have to admit having this available to me makes me take gaming on the tiny white console a tiny more seriously as a shared gaming experience.

Despite all that, it’s still just more Animal Crossing, and while it is a great game, we’ve all played it in various other incarnations. Are you excited for this new title, or were you hoping to see innovation beyond new peripherals?

[ Video not streaming? Upgrade your Flash version ] - more Destructoid videos

Nintendo wants you to know that they are amazingly, incredibly, mind-numbingly happy. At least, that’s what their opening video seemed to be saying at the Nintendo Press Conference at this year’s E3. After several minutes of watching people smiling like loons while playing games, we got the point — get a Wii and you’ll attain instant happiness. Move over, Buddha, enlightenment is overrated.

Anyway, that’s beyond the point. The first big premiere title demonstrated this year was Shaun White Snowboarding, in which Nintendo unveiled Shaun White himself using the Wii balance board to snowboard his way down an immaculate white slope. The game looks like a lot of fun and will definitely engage gamers who were concerned that the only thing they could do with their Wii balance board was film women’s asses swinging about as they hula hooped (not that that ever gets old, mind you).

Updated with new video and photos from the event!
